NOPD Announces Violent Crime Arrests, Clearances Between December 12-18

Listed below are arrests or clearances by warrant obtained between December 12-18, 2021 in violent crime investigations by the NOPD:

Homicide

  • On December 16, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives arrested Lenton J. Vanburen (pictured, black male, DOB:  06-15-1998) for second-degree murder. The incident occurred on November 29 in the 9700 block of Chef Menteur Highway.
  • On December 12, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested Kevin O. Adams (pictured, black male, DOB: 02-05-2003) and a 17-year-old juvenile male (not pictured) for attempted second-degree murder. The incident occurred on December 12 in the 700 block of Canal Street.

Shooting

  • On December 12, NOPD Sixth District detectives arrested Donovan White (not pictured, black male, DOB; 04-01-1991) for domestic second-degree aggravated battery by shooting, illegal carrying of a weapon and illegal use of a weapon. The incident occurred on December 12 in the 100 block of South Liberty Street.

Armed Robbery

  • On December 13, NOPD Second District detectives arrested Joseph Perez (pictured, Hispanic male, DOB: 11-05-2003), Erik Ruiz Ramirez (pictured, Hispanic male, DOB: 11-24-2003) and a 17-year-old juvenile male (not pictured) in connection with two incidents – an armed carjacking that occurred in the 10-100 block of Dreyfous Drive on December 7 and an armed robbery at the intersection of Loyola Avenue and Jena Street on December 12. The suspects were each booked with two counts of armed robbery and one count of illegal possession of stolen things. The arrested subjects were also found to be suspects in multiple armed robbery incidents and additional crimes in the Metro New Orleans area.

Other significant arrests

  • On December 14, NOPD Second District detectives – with assistance from Eighth District detectives – arrested Andre Waters (pictured, black male, DOB: 04-09-1993) and Terrill Dew (pictured, black male, DOB: 11-02-1996) on auto theft, drug and firearms possession charges. The auto theft incident occurred on Dec. 3 in the 600 block of Esplanade Avenue. During execution of a search warrant on a stolen vehicle Waters and Dew were found to be in possession, detectives confiscated approximately 3 pounds of marijuana and six firearms. An additional arrest warrant was obtained for Geourvon Sears (pictured, black male, DOB: 09-8-1997) in connection with this incident.
