NOPD Investigating Homicide in the Fourth District

NEW ORLEANS - The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (December 10, 2020) outside of a home in the 1600 block of Shirley Drive. 

At around 9:19 p.m., NOPD Fourth District officers were responding to a call of aggravated battery by shooting at the location.  Upon arrival, officers discovered a 34-year-old male suffering with multiple gunshot wounds.  He was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.  No additional details are currently available. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
