NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this evening (December 18, 2020) at a location in the Seventh District yet to be determined that left one person dead.

At about 10:35 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers were notified of an adult male victim with multiple gunshot wounds arriving at a local hospital via private conveyance. The victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital. At that time, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives assumed control of the investigation.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
