NOPD V.O.W.S Unit Arrests Attempted Murder Suspect

NEW ORLEANS – The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) arrested Henry Johnson (pictured, DOB: 05/19/2000), who was wanted in both an aggravated battery and attempted murder investigation. 

Johnson allegedly got into a verbal and physical altercation with a man in the 400 block of North Tonti on November 14, 2019.  As the fight continued, Johnson reportedly pulled out a gun and hit the man on both sides of his face causing him to seizure.   On November 25, 2019, Johnson allegedly got into an argument with another man in the 3200 block of General Ogden Street, before shooting the man in the abdomen area.  

Johnson was apprehended in Gretna, Louisiana, and booked in the Orleans Parish Justice Center on one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery.
