NOPD Investigating Homicide, Shooting in Fifth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (December 1, 2019) in the 2000 block of North Dorgenois Street, leaving two dead and two injured.

At about 12:42 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the block with four victims. Upon arrival, officers discovered four male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Two of the victims were declared dead at the scene, while the two remaining victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
