NOPD Arrests Man for Possession of an Illegal Firearm

The NOPD arrested Travis Legendre (pictured, DOB: 01/27/1980) after he was found to be in possession of an illegal firearm.

On December 1, 2019, Seventh District detectives initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Babylon and Dreux Streets after observing Legendre disregard two posted stop signs.  During the stop, detectives observed a bulge under the driver’s side floor mat.  When detectives conducted a search of the vehicle they recovered an extended clip loaded with .45 caliber bullets, and a gun with an obliterated serial number.

Legendre was arrested for possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
