NOPD to Partner with Local Businesses to Host the ‘Big Christmas Toy Drive’

The New Orleans Police Education and Training Division is partnering with local businesses to make Christmas special for thousands of inner-city kids by hosting the ‘Big Christmas Toy Drive’.

The event will take place on Sunday, December 16, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., inside of the Mercedes Benz Superdome, located at 1500 Poydras Street.

The NOPD will collaborate with Raynell Steward with Crayon Case Cosmetics, Jesseca Dupart with Kaleidoscope Hair Products, and The United Way of Southeast Louisiana to donate over 4, 000 toys to children in efforts to set the Guinness World Record of the most toys given away in 60 minutes.

According to Commander of the Education and Training Division, Shaun Ferguson, partnering with local business owners to give back to families during the holiday season is community policing at its best.

“Working side by side with these two very special ladies affords the New Orleans Police Department the opportunity to cultivate our relationship with both citizens and local businesses,” Ferguson said.

All media outlets are invited to attend this event.
