The NOPD is investigating a fatality and searching for a Good Samaritan after an incident that occurred in the 7900 block of Lakeshore Drive.

At around 7:03 p.m., Third District officers and EMS responded to an accident in the area involving a vehicle in the lake. Upon arrival, officers learned that two male subjects were inside of a white vehicle in the parking lot of a restaurant when one of them placed the vehicle in drive and accelerated into Lake Pontchartrain causing the vehicle to be submerged in water.
