NOPD Investigates Homicide on St. Ann Street

NOPD Investigates Homicide on St. Ann Street

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred in the 1900 block of St. Ann Street today (Dec. 16).

At around 7: 45 a.m., an off-duty NOPD officer was flagged down in the area by a citizen regarding a man bleeding inside of an apartment. Upon arrival, the off-duty officer and First District officers observed an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds inside of the apartment. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
