NOPD Arrests Suspect in Armed Carjacking Incident, Searches for Second Subject

Seventh District Task Force Officers arrested Martel Williams (DOB: 10-06-1999) on Monday, (Dec. 4) for an outstanding warrant for armed carjacking out of Gonzales, La.

Williams admitted he and Dejuan Noel (DOB: 02-24-1999) committed an armed carjacking in the Seventh District. Williams was charged with armed carjacking and officers are still searching for the second suspect who is also wanted in this same incident.

The incident happened at about 11:55 a.m. on Wednesday, (Nov. 8). The victim told police he was traveling west on Dwyer Road in a blue 2012 Hyundai Tuscon bearing Louisiana license plate #VZL743. The victim approached the stop sign at the intersection of Dwyer Road and Mayo Boulevard, at which time three unknown subjects entered the unlocked vehicle. One of the suspects punched the victim in the face and pointed a gun at him while demanding the victim to get out of the car. The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.
