NOPD Apprehends Suspect in Theft, Illegal Possession of Firearm, Escape

The NOPD has apprehended Joshua Womack (DOB: 07-18-1995), who was arrested on November 28 after escaping custody following a November 13 arrest.

Womack was originally arrested on November 13 for theft, felon in possession of a firearm, drug possession charges and probation violations in connection with an incident that occurred in the 2700 block of General Odgen Street. However, Womack escaped from Second District officers and was subsequently located and apprehended on November 28, with the assistance of the Second District Nightwatch and supervisors, along with Officers Stewart and Lott.

Womack was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on the aforementioned counts, as well as for simple escape. In addition, Womack was arrested on two warrants out of Jefferson Parish.
