NOPD officers are set to take on the New Orleans Fire Department in a championship basketball game this Friday (Dec. 23) at the Smoothie King Center.
The NOPD's team competed in the New Orleans Pelicans’ inaugural First Responders Holiday Classic basketball tournament at the team’s practice facility over the weekend.
More than 80 first responders participated in the tournament, which consisted of five police departments and three fire departments throughout the state. NOPD officers played a total of three games during the tournament.

The championship game will start around 1 p.m. on December 23, 2016.
The New Orleans Pelicans is offering a special "Friends and Family" discount to the Pelicans game on December 23, 2016 which starts at 7 p.m. Anyone with a ticket to the Pelicans game can attend the first responders championship game that afternoon.
