NOPD Investigates Sexual Assault on Patterson Drive

The NOPD is searching for an unknown black male wanted in connection to a sexual assault that occurred last night (Dec. 28) in the 700 block of Patterson Drive in the Fourth District.

 

A 34-year-old female reported that around 8:45 p.m. she was jogging on the paved path at the top of the Mississippi River levee when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown male who had been seated on a nearby bench.

 

The victim stated the unknown male choked her and sexually assaulted her, and struck her in the head when she fought back. He then fled the scene. The victim called for help and was assisted by passersby. She was then transported to a local hospital.

 

The suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion, a thin build, and shoulder length dreadlocks. He is approximately 6’ tall and was wearing a white shirt with black print, black shorts and a blue baseball cap with a red brim.
