Duo Busted With Cocaine, Illegal Weapon on Bourbon Street Friday

Eighth District officers on proactive patrol Friday (Dec. 9) busted two suspects believed to be selling drugs in the 200 block of Bourbon Street.

Around 6:40 p.m., officers spotted Aaron Taylor (DOB: 11/18/1996) approach another male subject with a clear bag containing what was later discovered to be cocaine. The two men eventually went into the restroom of a nearby business. Two officers followed the pair into the business and stopped the hand-to-hand drug sale in progress. Officers arrested Taylor without incident.

At the same time, officers spotted Elijah Martin (DOB: 2/6/1998) in possession of several clear bags containing a white powdery substance, which was also later discovered to be cocaine. When officers approached Martin, he refused to cooperate and tried to run away. Officers were able to arrest him and also found a handgun in his possession.

Officers arrested both men and brought them to Central Lockup to be booked on multiple charges.
