The NOPD today (August 13, 2024) announces the arrest of Jakoz King (black male, DOB; 12-11-2006) of Reserve, La., in its investigation of a homicide that occurred on August 10, 2024, at the intersection of Bourbon and Saint Louis streets.

From August 14 through September 2, which includes the Labor Day holiday weekend, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will be working alongside local law enforcement, including the NOPD, for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over high-visibility enforcement campaign. The goal is to deter impaired driving and prevent the tragedies seen in previous Labor Day weekends from happening again.
