NOPD Seeking to Interview Person of Interest in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a subject identified as a person of interest for questioning in the ongoing investigation of a homicide that occurred on January 19, 2022, in the 1300 block of Flanders Street.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives have identified Charne’ Smith (pictured, black female, DOB; 07-05-1991) as a person of interest. Flanders is not currently wanted on criminal charges in this case. However, detectives feel she may have knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to interview her.
