NOPD Seeking Suspect in First District Attempted Murder Investigation

The NOPD is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect in the investigation of an attempted murder incident on August 21, 2022, at the intersection of North Rampart and Bienville streets.

At about 5:37 p.m., the pictured unknown black male suspect was walking with the victim when the suspect allegedly shot the victim to the head before fleeing the scene. The victim was left paralyzed on one side of their body from the injury.

The suspect is described as a black male with medium-length dreadlocked hair and facial hair, last seen wearing gray and white Nike tennis shoes. At the time of the shooting, he was seen wearing the pictured clothing. However, after the shooting, he was seen having changed into the black t-shirt he is seen holding. The subject is known to frequent areas in the First and Eighth districts.
