NOPD Investigating Homicide in Second District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide today (August 22, 2022) in the 3600 block of General Taylor Street that left one person dead.

At about 12:19 p.m., NOPD Second District officers responded to a call of a shooting victim at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a unresponsive male victim determined to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was declared deceased on scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
