NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in Third District Armed Robbery investigation

NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in Third District Armed Robbery investigation

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals today (August 4, 2021) arrested Darrell Smith (pictured, black male, DOB: 05-30-2002) in the investigation of an armed robbery on July 23, 2021 in the 6100 block of Chatham Drive.

Through investigation, NOPD Third District detectives positively identified Smith as the perpetrator in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest on armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated battery. NOPD VOWS officers and the U.S. Marshals located Smith and arrested him today without incident.

Smith was additionally charged with possession of stolen firearms, which were recovered upon his arrest.
