NOPD Continues Search to ID Suspect, Person of Interest in 2018 Homicide Investigation

The NOPD continues its investigation into a homicide that occurred on February 5, 2018, and seeks to identify two subjects, one considered to be a suspect and a second to be a person of interest who is sought for questioning only.

In the early morning hours of February 5, 2020, the victim – identified by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office as Russell Teal – was found deceased in the 1400 block of Governor Nicholls Street. An autopsy determined Teal’s death to be a homicide. As a result of the follow-up investigation, investigators are searching for the two pictured male subjects.

The subject pictured at top is considered a person of interest and, while not wanted on criminal charges at this time, is sought only for questioning regarding this incident.

The subject pictured at bottom is considered to be a suspect in this incident.

Anyone with additional information on this incident or the identities or whereabouts of the pictured subjects is asked to contact NOPD Homicide Unit Detective Ryan Aucoin detectives at 504-658-5300 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
