Suspect Wanted for Aggravated Battery by Cutting Incident

NOPD officers are searching for Ravanell Williams (DOB: 09/12/1977) after his alleged involvement in an aggravated battery by cutting incident that occurred near the intersection of Dale and Warfield streets.

At or around 5:30 p.m. on August 11, 2018, the victim and the subject were driving when they reportedly engaged in an argument. The victim told police that Williams stopped the car, produced a silver box cutter, held the weapon to her neck and threatened to kill her, before cutting her on the left side of her jaw with the box cutter.

The victim allegedly attempted to get out of the vehicle, but was unsuccessful due to the fact that Williams reportedly slammed the vehicle’s door on her hand to keep her inside the vehicle. The victim reportedly exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot toward Warfield Street, at which time Williams caught up to her and allegedly struck her several times in the face and body. The victim advised officers that she called the police, at which time Williams snatched her cellphone from her hand and fled the scene.

Anyone with any information regarding Ravanell Williams’ whereabouts should contact Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
