NOPD Searching for Suspect in Identity Theft, Fraud Investigation

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Isaac Michael Sylvester (DOB: 08-02-1984) for identity theft, fraud and resisting arrest charges.

Sylvester is suspected of allegedly making numerous fraudulent charges to a credit card of the victim, with whom he was reportedly residing between April through July 2018 at the victim’s residence in the 600 block of Arabella Street.

Sylvester – who also goes by the aliases of Isaac Michael Macavoy, Isaac Macafferty and Isaac Mclaughlin – is suspected of using a variety of aliases and Social Security numbers in multiple identity theft and fraud incidents. He is also wanted in New York and Florida for similar crimes.

Through investigation, detectives discovered the felony warrants and attempted to apprehend Sylvester at the location, but Sylvester reportedly fled the scene and remains at large.

Sylvester is described as a white male standing about 5’8” and weighing about 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is believed to frequent areas in the Eighth and Second districts.
