NOPD Identifies Suspect Wanted for Auto Burglary on St. Peter Street

NOPD officers are searching for Richard Thornton (DOB: 07/06/1978), who is wanted for an auto burglary that occurred in the 400 block of Saint Peter Street.

The reporting person told police that on May 19, 2018, at approximately 1:50 p.m., she parked her 2010 Ford Edge in the parking lot at the aforementioned location. Upon returning to the vehicle, the victim discovered that a guitar that was located in the rear of the vehicle was missing. The victim also stated that the rear contents of the vehicle were ransacked.

During the course of the investigation, Thornton was positively identified as the perpetrator in this incident. Officers learned that Thornton sold the stolen property shortly after the burglary occurred.
