Businesses Asked to Be Aware of Possible Juvenile Theft Suspects in Second District Incidents

NOPD Second District detectives are asking businesses in the area to be aware of a group of three juveniles who are believed to have attempted to steal money by causing disturbances inside of stores.

At about 5 p.m. on August 12, 2018, three juveniles – two females and one male – between the ages of 10 and 12 reportedly went into three stores in the 2000 and 2100 blocks of Magazine Street. The juveniles allegedly cause a disturbance, during which one of the juveniles attempted to open the cash register. The juveniles did not retrieve any money from any of the businesses, but detectives feel that the juveniles may attempt to do so again. The male juvenile has reportedly been involved in taking money from tip jars at a business in the area as well.

Area businesses should be aware of this and if there is any such types of disturbances the employees should call the police immediately and, if possible, provide a description and direction where the suspects fled.

Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to contact NOPD Second District detectives at 504-658-6020 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
