VOWS Unit Apprehends Two Suspects

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) unit arrested two more individuals today. Both suspects were wanted in connection with major offenses.

 

Logan Barker (DOB: 11/7/1981) for aggravated assault with a firearm. The incident occurred on July 16, 2017, and the apprehension took place in the 600 block of South Hennessey Street in the Third District.

 

Travis Castell (DOB: 10/9/1983) for attempted armed robbery. The incident took place in the 800 block of Governor Nicholls Street on July 23, 2017, and Castell was arrested in the 2100 block of St. Ferdinand Street in the Fifth District by VOWS and the Eighth District DIU.

About VOWS

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016 the unit was responsible for more than 500 arrests.
