Suspect in Auto Theft on Saint Nick Drive Captured on Video

The NOPD is seeking to locate and identify the subject seen on surveillance video committing an auto theft in the 2600 block of St. Nick Drive on August 8, 2017.

The victim told police that about 9:30 a.m., his 2012 Dodge Ram King Cab pick-up truck bearing Texas license plate #BXP6311 was stolen from the area. The victim said he was in the area for work purposes, parking his vehicle along the street and leaving it running with the keys in the ignition and the door unlocked. The victim said he walked over to a residence to speak to his work crew when he noticed a man walking on the sidewalk toward the victim’s vehicle. A short time later, the victim said, he noticed his vehicle was moving and turning northbound on Saint Nick Street, leaving the area. The victim noted that numerous personal and professional items were inside of the truck at the time of the incident, including a bank card that had been used to make purchases from a Shell gas station.

The victim described the individual he saw as a black male in his mid to late 20s or early 30s with a medium build, standing about 5’10” to 5’11” tall wearing a dark blue shirt and cut-off jeans.

As investigation into the incident progressed, detectives discovered the vehicle had been driven to the 4200 block of General Odgen Street, located in the Third District, where it was recovered. No information was available as to the items reported inside of the

The subject drove the vehicle to the 4200 block of General Ogden Street, in the Third District, where it was later recovered.
