Suspect Identified in Vehicle Burglaries in Third District

Suspect Identified in Vehicle Burglaries in Third District

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Jermaine Bingham (DOB: 01-26-1997) in connection with two vehicle burglaries that occurred in the Third District.

In the first incident, a vehicle burglary was reported on June 22, 2017 in the 4300 block of Pauger Street. The victim told police that at about 11 p.m. on June 21, he parked his vehicle in the side driveway of his residence, leaving the vehicle unlocked with a pocket knife, company cell phone and tire/rim wheel lock on the center console. When the victim returned to the vehicle at about 6 p.m. on June 22, he found the center console to have been ransacked and the aforementioned items missing.

In the second incident, a vehicle burglary was reported on July 5, 2017 in the 4400 block of Mandeville Street. The victim told police that he had parked his vehicle in front of his residence at about 3 p.m. on July 3, 2017, and locked the doors. When the victim returned to his vehicle at about 5:30 p.m. on July 4, he discovered that both the driver and passenger doors were ajar. The victim searched the vehicle and discovered that his vehicle registration and insurance paperwork were missing from the glove compartment.

As investigation into the incidents progressed, detectives developed Bingham as the perpetrator in each of the incidents.

In addition to these incidents, Bingham has additional warrants out for his arrest in both Orleans and Jefferson parishes.
