NOPD Arrests Suspect on Aggravated Assault, Battery Charges

The NOPD has arrested Charles Goudeau (DOB: 07-10-1984) in connection with an aggravated assault that occurred on August 13, 2017 in the 14200 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

At about 5:34 p.m., Goudeau allegedly was in an argument with the mother of his 6-day old child when Goudeau allegedly punched the female victim in the head and neck. The victim’s brother reportedly witnessed the incident and attempted to intervene on the victim’s behalf, at which time Goudeau allegedly punched him several times to the head and grabbed him by the neck.

During the struggle, Goudeau reportedly produced a switchblade knife from his pocket and attempted to stab the male victim. At that time, the victim’s parents came upon the altercation and were able to restrain Goudeau until Seventh District officers arrived.

Goudeau was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on one count each of aggravated assault, simple battery and domestic abuse battery.

Anyone with further information on this incident is asked to contact Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
