NOPD Investigating Homicide in Sixth District

NOPD Investigating Homicide in Sixth District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this evening (April 20, 2022) in the 1800 block of Rousseau Street that left one person dead.

At about 6:55 p.m., NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of a shot person at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult male found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was declared deceased on scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
