NOPD Identifies Suspect in Eighth District Attempted Murder Incident

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Shawn Hubbard (aka “Smurf” or “Goblin”, white male, DOB: 04-26-1984) in the investigation of an aggravated battery by cutting incident on April 19, 2022, near the intersection of Governor Nicholls Street and French Market Place.

Through investigation, NOPD Eighth District detectives have determined that at about 4:10 a.m. on April 19, Hubbard and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation that became physical. During the altercation, Hubbard allegedly stabbed the victim. The victim was transported via EMS to a local hospital for treatment.

When located, Hubbard will be arrested on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.
