NOPD Arrests Suspect in December 2021 Sixth District Attempted Murder

Today (April 19, 2022), the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad, the U.S. Marshals and Sixth District detectives arrested Ta’Darryl C. Cobbins Sr. (pictured, black male, DOB: 07-10-2002) in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting on December 31, 2021, in the 2200 block of Terpsichore Street.

Through investigation, Sixth District detectives developed and positively identified Cobbins as the perpetrator in this incident and obtained an arrest warrant on charges of attempted first-degree murder, among other charges related to the incident.

Cobbins was located by NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals and Sixth District detectives at a residence in the 2400 block of Clio Street and arrested him without incident. During enaction of a search warrant on the residence, the pictured handgun was located and found to belong to Cobbins. He was transported and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for one count of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated second-degree battery and on one count each of armed robbery, illegal carrying of weapons and illegal use of a weapon.
