NOPD Arrests Suspect in Homicide Investigation

On April 28, 2021, the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad, the U.S. Marshals Task Force and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Sharoy Williams Jr. (black male, DOB: 05-07-2002) in the investigation of a homicide on April 22, 2021 in the 1100 block of Nunez Street.

At about 8:23 a.m. on April 22, NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim having sustained a gunshot wound(s). The victim was declared deceased at the scene. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as 22-year-old Kevin Goins.

As investigation into the incident progressed, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed and positively identified Williams as the perpetrator in this incident. Williams was located in Jefferson Parish and was arrested earlier today without incident.

Williams was relocated to lock-up in Jefferson Parish, where he is facing outstanding attachments. Williams will be extradited to Orleans Parish and booked for one count of second-degree murder. A booking photo of Williams was not available as of this writing.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Homicide Unit Detective Aaron Harrelson at 504-658-5300.
