NOPD Invites Residents to Dresses for Dreams Event

The NOPD is inviting residents to attend the Dresses for Dreams event which will take place on April 6, 2019 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Alice Harte Charter School located at 5300 Berkley Drive.

Fourth District Officer Qiana Lewis partnered with community organizations, including the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Omicron Nu Zeta Chapter, in collecting prom dresses for deserving students.

Officer Lewis launched Dresses for Dreams after learning about the alarming number of high school students who choose not to attend their prom due to the hefty expenses of dresses and other items needed for prom.

On Saturday (April 6), the students will receive their free prom dresses, get their hair and makeup done and participate in a fashion show which will begin at 1 p.m. sharp. The NOPD is asking family, friends and community members to attend the event and support the young ladies.

For more information about the Dresses for Dreams event, please contact Fourth District Officer Qiana Lewis at 504-658-6040, 504-658-6043 or email her at qtlewis@nola.gov.
