NOPD Arrests Four Suspects for Multiple Seventh District Armed Robberies

NOPD Arrests Four Suspects for Multiple Seventh District Armed Robberies

The NOPD has arrested four individuals – three adults and a juvenile female – in connection with multiple armed robbery incidents in the Seventh District.

The four subjects – identified as Byron Green (pictured above at left, DOB: 08-31-1979), Develyn Smith (pictured above second from left, DOB: 09-03-1994) , Reiontae Ward (pictured above at right, DOB: 12-26-2000) and a 13 year old female were apprehended by St. John’s Parish Sheriff’s deputies on April 1, 2019 in a vehicle that was reported as having been carjacked from the NOPD’s Seventh District.

Through investigation, Seventh District detectives determined that the four subjects were responsible for an armed robbery that occurred on March 10, 2019, in the 4400 block of Rhodes Drive, while Green and the juvenile female were found to be responsible for an armed carjacking that occurred on March 12, 2019, in the 4400 block of Cerise Avenue.

In addition, Green and Smith were also determined by detectives to be responsible for a simple robbery on March 11, 2019 at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Dotd Avenue.

The subjects were arrested and transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center and the Juvenile Justice Center, respectively. Green was booked for second degree robbery, two counts of armed robbery with a firearm and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Smith was booked for second degree robbery, armed robbery with a firearm.  Ward was booked for armed robbery with a firearm. The juvenile female was booked for two counts each of armed robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
