NOPD Investigates Homicide, Shooting on Oliver White & North Prieur

NOPD Investigates Homicide, Shooting on Oliver White & North Prieur

The NOPD is investigating a homicide and shooting incident that started in the 300 block of Oliver White Avenue. 

At around 1:03 a.m., Fifth District officers responded to calls of shots fired at the intersection of Oliver White Avenue and Pleasure Street. Through the course of the investigation, officers relocated to the intersection of Franklin and North Prieur where they discovered a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead on scene.

As the investigation progressed, officers also determined that two additional victims were involved in the incident and went to the hospital by private conveyance.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
