NOPD Arrest Subject in Armed Robbery Incident

Seventh District officers apprehended Kanisha Earlycutt (DOB: 08-02-1979) for her involvement in an armed robbery incident that occurred on Sunday, April 1, 2018, in the 9700 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

The victim was waiting for Earlycutt to meet her in front of Family Dollar when she noticed two unknown black males loitering near the entrance to the business. Earlycutt arrived to the location in a 2005 grey Nissan Altima. The subject then exited the vehicle and engaged in an argument with the victim.

During the argument, one of the male subjects approached the victim and demanded her money while grabbing her purse. The victim refused, at which time the perpetrator allegedly produced a black handgun and pointed it at the victim. The second subject stood in the parking lot during the incident, verbally encouraging the first perpetrator. Both subjects then entered the vehicle with Earlycutt and fled the scene, heading in a westbound direction on Chef Menteur Highway.

Earlycutt was wanted by Seventh District Detective Gregory Desanto. Officers located the individual at her residence in the 6000 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Earlycutt was transported to Central Lockup, where she was booked and charged with one count of principal to armed robbery.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to contact Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
