The NOPD is looking for a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted murder in the 5800 block of Read Boulevard.
The victim reported that she and Cherrie Mitchell (DOB: 2-16-1977) were involved in a verbal altercation on April 2, 2017 at approximately 10:30 p.m. When the victim attempted to leave the location, Mitchell shot her once in the back of the neck and left the scene.
Mitchell reportedly drives a dark green or black late ‘90s model Nissan Maxima, and she has cut her hair very short in an effort to conceal her identity.
