Suspect Arrested for Aggravated Battery by Shooting on Michoud

NOPD Seventh District officers along with the VOWS unit arrested Jerrod Ross (DOB: 12-16-1999) on Thursday in connection to a shooting incident.

The incident happened on April 2, 2017. At about 11:33 p.m., Ross spotted the victim, who he had a verbal altercation with earlier that day, in the 4600 block of Michoud Boulevard.  Ross stopped his vehicle and fired several rounds at the victim, who was on foot, striking the victim once in the knee and then fleeing the location.

On April 15, 2017, Ross was positively identified as the shooter. After executing a search warrant, a stolen .40 caliber Smith & Wesson pistol was located inside Ross’ bedroom. He was arrested without incident.
