The NOPD is requesting assistance in identifying and locating a suspect caught on surveillance video in a simple burglary that occurred on April 24, 2017 in the 300 block of North Lopez Street.

The victim told police that she arrived at her residence at about 7:30 p.m., placing her keys in a bowl. When she returned to the location at about 9 p.m. to retrieve the keys, they were no longer in the bowl.

A review of surveillance video from a neighboring home showed that at about 8:31 p.m., an unknown black male wearing a light-colored shirt and dark-colored pants is seen entering the block from Conti Street and walking past the victim’s residence. The video then shows the individual walking directly up to the home, remaining there for about one minute before leaving the residence. The individual later returned, at which time he is seen unlocking the victim’s vehicle and later entering the vehicle. The subject then fled the scene on foot.

The victim advised police that nothing was missing from her home or vehicle, other than her keys.
