 NOPD Seeking Suspect in Aggravated Assault on Old Gentilly Road

The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public in identifying and locating an individual believed to be responsible for an aggravated assault at the Family Dollar store at 4525 Old Gentilly Road on April 26, 2017.

At about 11:07 a.m., the pictured unknown black male entered the store and proceeded to fill his pants pockets with several items before being confronted by a store employee. The male produced at hypodermic needle from his pocket and threatened to stab the employee. The employee pulled a box cutter from his pocket and began to chase after the male. The male got to the front of the store where the manager asked him to remove the items from his pockets. The male complied and fled the store, heading north towards Chef Menteur Highway.
