NOPD is investigating a homicide that took place in a parking lane in the 1800 block of Louisa Street.
Today, April 2, 2017 at around 6:02 p.m., Fifth district officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Louisa Street for a call of an aggravated battery by shooting. Upon arrival they found a 39-year-old male behind the wheel of a silver Mercury Mountaineer. The vehicle was still running. The victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the victim's name and the official cause of death.
