Aggravated Assault and Theft Suspect Sought

NOPD has identified Myron Matthews (DOB: 9/13/1982) as a suspect wanted in connection with an aggravated assault and theft incident at a Family Dollar store, in the 4500 block of Old Gentilly Road.

The victim reported that on April 26, 2017, At about 11:07 a.m., an unknown black male entered the store and proceeded to fill his pants pockets with several items before being confronted by a store employee. The male produced at hypodermic needle from his pocket and threatened to stab the employee. The employee pulled a box cutter from his pocket and began to chase after the male. The male got to the front of the store where the manager asked him to remove the items from his pockets. The male complied and fled the store, heading north towards Chef Menteur Highway.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify Myron Matthews as the suspect and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
