Over the last two weeks, the NOPD has been in a spirit of giving and cheer with what has been a list of large-scale community engagement events this holiday season. More than 500 brand-new bicycles and hundreds of toys have been given to families and children throughout the city.

NOPD and Louisiana State Police Mark Successful Weekend With Multiple Gun Arrests

The New Orleans Police Department and the Louisiana State Police marked a successful and safe holiday weekend with the announcement of multiple gun arrests, getting potential shooters off the street and illegal weapons out of their hands. Detailed below, the department made 19 gun arrests in two days - including the arrest of a man carrying an assault rifle on the 700 block of Canal Street near Bourbon Street.
