NOPD to Conduct Upcoming Sobriety Checkpoint

The NOPD’s Traffic Division will conduct an upcoming sobriety checkpoint in Orleans Parish on Thursday, September 7, 2023. The checkpoint will operate between the hours of 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, and 5:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8.

NHTSA and NOPD Remind Drivers During Labor Day Holiday: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

From August 18 through September 4, the NOPD will be participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over high-visibility enforcement period. In support of the law enforcement community’s dedication to protecting the lives of residents in their communities, you’ll see officers working together during this time to take drunk drivers off the roads. No matter how you plan to celebrate the end of summer this year, make sure you plan to do it safely.
