NOPD & NORD Teaming up with Seventh District Community for   National Night Out Against Crime Tomorrow

From the Audubon Institute of New Orleans to the New Orleans East Library dozens of local businesses, community organizations and non-profits are teaming up with the NOPD tomorrow (Oct. 17) to host the 2017 National Night Out Against Crime kick-off event. It’s all happening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Joe W. Brown Victory Field at 5601 Read Blvd. The event is free and open to the public.

NOPD Pay Plan Moves Ahead with Unanimous Vote from Civil Service Commission

The New Orleans Police Department today brought before the Civil Service Commission a new pay plan and job classification structure designed to increase the number of officers on the street by addressing long-standing retention issues and incentivizing long-term careers on the force. By unanimous vote, the Civil Service Commission approved the proposal, clearing the way for more competitive salaries across the board and greater opportunities for advancement.

NOPD No Longer Enforcing Curfew as Hurricane Nate Shifts

As Hurricane Nate heads away from New Orleans and toward Mississippi, the mandatory curfew has been lifted for the city of New Orleans. The New Orleans Police Department will no longer be enforcing any curfew within the City of New Orleans.
