In honor of Pride Month 2020, the NOPD has once again made available to its officers a special badge bearing the multi-colored Pride symbol

Members of the public wishing to utilize the NOPD’s online reporting system can do so by visiting www.nola.gov/nopdonline to file police reports for non-emergency incidents and to download their reports at no charge.

NOPD Superintendent Shaun Ferguson today promoted two lieutenants to the rank of captain in private ceremonies held today in the Superintendent’s Office at NOPD Headquarters.

New Orleans – In appreciation of the healthcare workers, police officers, firefighters, and paramedics who are committed to the community’s safety and well-being, McDonald’s will offer free “Thank You Meals” between Wednesday, April 22^nd(tomorrow) and Tuesday, May 5^th. 

To promote public safety and awareness, the NOPD's Traffic Division will be conducting vehicle checkpoints within Orleans Parish to monitor seat belt usage by all occupants of automobiles.

In addition to seat belt usage, the NOPD will also use these checkpoints to verbally provide information regarding the current stay-at home order in place within Orleans Parish due to the current COVID-19 public health crisis.
