NOPD Arrests Suspect in Third District Shooting Investigation

The NOPD today (March 14, 2022) arrested Keith Blasé (pictured, black male, DOB: 05-23-1995) in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting incident that occurred today at the intersection of Benefit and St. Roch streets.

At about 1:30 a.m., three known males were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated into gunfire. All three victims received gunshot wounds and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Upon hearing gunfire in the area, responding NOPD Third District officers arrived at the scene and immediately detained a subject, later positively identified as Blasé. Through investigation, Blasé was determined to be a perpetrator as well as a victim in this incident. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and, upon medical release, was arrested and was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for one count each of attempted second-degree murder and domestic abuse battery.  w Blasé Blaias also arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Jefferson Parish.
