The NOPD responded to an incident this morning (September 22, 2023) in the 14500 block of Peltier Drive that ultimately resulted in a SWAT roll being declared.
At about 4:59 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers arrived at the location in response to a reported domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers came into contact with an adult male subject in the doorway of a residence who closed the door and retreated inside the residence. As officers moved away from the door, the subject fired gunshots from inside the residence toward the officers.
At that time, a SWAT roll was declared and NOPD Special Operations Division officers arrived on scene. Soon after, the subject surrendered to police and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
No injuries were reported in this incident, and no officers discharged their weapons. A police vehicle did sustain gunfire damage.
