On September 13, 2023, NOPD Seventh District officers arrested Darrell Robinson (black male, DOB: 08-07-2000) on weapons and narcotics charges in an incident that occurred at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Werner Drive.

Seventh District officers in the area conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection. During the stop, a passenger in the vehicle was seen exiting the vehicle without being advised to and placing an object from his waistband to the floorboard. The subject, later identified as Robinson, was detained and officers observed a firearm on the front passenger floorboard. Based on this observation, officers obtained and executed a search warrant on the vehicle.

A subsequent warranted search of the vehicle revealed three firearms, of which two were reported stolen from out of parish; approximately $300 in U.S. currency; 47 individually wrapped bags of crack cocaine; eight large pieces of crack cocaine; approximately 6 grams of a brown powder substance that tested positive for amphetamine; and approximately seven grams of a white powdered substance that tested positive for cocaine.

Robinson was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on three counts of possession of a Schedule II CDS and on one count each of illegal carrying of a weapon, illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of narcotics and for possession of drug paraphernalia

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
