Suspect Wanted in Simple Robbery on Canal Street

The NOPD is seeking information to aid in locating and identifying a subject seen on surveillance in connection with a simple robbery that occurred on August 30, 2017 in the 2200 block of Canal Street.

At about 5:50 a.m., the pictured subject and victim were engaged in a brief conversation. The victim proceeded to leave, at which time the perpetrator forcefully grabbed a plastic bag from the victim’s left hand, containing a beer. The victim fell to the ground and eventually returned to his feet, where he continuously made efforts to retrieve the beer from the perpetrators right hand. The beer fell to the ground, at which time the victim attempted to retrieve the beer, but the perpetrator gained possession of the beer and fled the location on a bicycle.
